Spring 2026 Obsessions

Hello Darlings,
Did you miss me?
If I'm being totally honest with you, I haven't been entirely enthralled in the trending styles of a new season in a while. Call it fatigue, or a lack of inspiration if you like, but I can't bring myself to write about something for the sake of writing about it. How artistic of me I know.
But this spring, something is different. I'm excited to start dressing for the warmer weather - something that was especially shocking considering I am a fall/winter dresser to my core. Maybe it's the general peak in romanticism that we've seen in the zeitgeist as of late that has me dreaming of pastel chiffon and asymmetrical hemlines. I've heard Jacob Elordi in an ascot and mutton chops will do that to a person. Or maybe it's that damn Richard Tylar dress that Carrie wears when she falls in the pond that lives in a deep part of my brain. It pops out every once in a while when dressing in my uniform of black crewnecks and straight legs jeans becomes monotonous. Whatever it is, I'm craving spring styles and am more than excited to share them with you lovely people. These are my spring 2026 obsessions.
Periwinkle Blue
Walking into your local Zara or Aritzia this year it's undeniable that lavender and icy blue are leading the charge when it comes to Spring hues. And while I love me some lavender, I'm finding myself especially drawn to a blend between the two tones - a periwinkle if you will. I've seen many variations of the colour all over my Pinterest, especially in sheer, shiny, and iridescent fabrics. I especially love the styling of this first look, where it feels like a set, but isn't quite matching. It seems that much of the original inspiration for this colour palette and overall soft styling heralds back to the heyday of 1990s, ultra feminine Chloé. It's all very Liv Tyler in the Lord of the Rings and as a pale gal, I appreciate a colour that makes fair skin look ethereal rather than sickly. Not to say the colour can't be flattering on other skin tones - periwinkle and some body shimmer feels like a winning combination for anyone this spring.
High-Cut V-Necks
Well - we knew this was coming. Just as denim silhouettes work in a pretty steady trend cycle, t-shirt cuts follow a similar trajectory. While in the past few years the crewneck has been the undeniable favourite of the masses, with a wide neck seeing a resurgence for those fashionably inclined, a new (or should I say returning) favourite is starting to take hold. Enter the high-cut v-neck. An undoubtably sporty yet surprisingly chic style, the high-cut v-neck t-shirt feels like a balance between the crewnecks of present and deep plunging Vs of the 2010s. Trust me, I sported enough Aeropostale numbers and accompanying camisoles to understand people's apprehension towards a v-neck. Thus, this in-between style feels like a far more palatable form of the v-neck for those who were sentient during the Abercrombie era of casual dressing.
I've recently invested in two of these tees from KOTN, one black and one white, in preparation for the upcoming warmer weather. I have many pieces from the brand and I adore all of them. They're a certified B-corp based out of Toronto and I couldn't be a bigger fan. No they're not paying me to say that - they're just that good.
Lace Detailing & Other Girly Flourishes
As Meryl Streep in an asymmetrical grey pixie cut once said, florals for spring? Ground breaking. But I can't help but gush over the ultra feminine details this spring/summer season. I find myself eager to dress in nothing but frilly midi skirts and easy tees all season long. The more flourishes - the better. This can include wispy hemlines, lace overlays, draping, sequence, and everything in in-between.
Beaded Bags
Maybe this is a subcategory of the above, but one particular item I've been seeing all over my Pinterest is the beaded bag. Some have beaded fringe, while others are more intricate in pattern and design. I believe that one particular Tory Burch bag (middle) was the catalyst for this obsession. This is likely one of the most trendy items on this list and thus I wouldn't recommend investing unless it really resonates with your personal style. The good news is though, there's plenty available on second hand apps and markets (or maybe even ask your grandma if she has any kicking around).
Open-Toe Sandals
With the resurgence of flip flops over the last two years it shouldn't be at all surprising that open-two sandals of all varieties are on the come-up. The most popular I've seen this spring season are light-toned kitten heels with either a peep-toe or strappy design. While I look to style spring skirts and dresses, where I'd usually opt for a pointed toe black kitten heel, I find myself instead gravitating towards something softer. I recently purchased a cream pair of strappy kitten heels that are versatile enough to go with nearly all of my current warm weather pieces. But if you want something with a little more flourish by all means - have some fun with it.
That concludes my current spring obsessions. Let me know what trends or styles you're loving - I'm always happy to hear from you!
